I've applied my extensive software and data analysis background to deep study of LLMs — from high-level concepts down to low-level exploration via PyTorch, CUDA, and related tools. I spec'd and assembled a dedicated system for this work: a Supermicro board, 128-core AMD EPYC CPU, 384 GB ECC RAM, and a Blackwell GPU via an RTX 6000 Pro Max-Q.
Currently focused on improved AI applications using local hardware, and evaluating AI coding tools including Claude Code + Opus 4.6, Cline, and Kilo Code with a range of locally running models.
As a recent full-stack exercise, I built AllHistory.us — presenting over 200,000 pages of high-quality historical text on American Indians and the Civil War. It uses Blazor WASM with C# on both client and server, BaseX for document indexing and search, plus Postgres and Redis for data management. (No AI coding used.)
